JUST IN: West Ham are in discussions about potentially bringing in Ruben Amorim
West Ham United has discussed a bold plan to replace David Moyes as manager with Ruben Amorim should he depart the team.
Moyes’ contract expires this summer, and although the Scottish player stated in February that he has received a fresh offer, no decision regarding his future will be made until the end of the current campaign.
Amorim is a key consideration for West Ham as they develop their backup plans in the interim, and talks are ongoing between the two teams.
Although Julen Lopetegui has also been evaluated by the east London team, Amorim is currently the front-runner.

Examining Liverpool’s backup managerial choices
Although the 39-year-old Sporting Lisbon head coach is believed to find the likely position appealing, it is unclear how West Ham fits into his future prospects.
Amorim has also been given consideration by Liverpool, but it doesn’t seem likely that they will choose him over departing manager Jurgen Klopp.
After leading the team to their first European trophy since 1965 with the Europa Conference League victory in the previous season, Moyes has now presided over 12 league losses this year, the most recent of which was a Sunday loss to Crystal Palace that manager called “so bad, I can hardly put it into words.”
The Premier League’s eighth-place team, West Ham, will play Liverpool on Saturday.
