Breaking: Sunderland is reportedly Making An Important Decision under the guidance of Kristjaan Speakman ahead of the upcoming summer window
Ahead of the summer season, Sunderland has been connected to two strikers in recent days.
The majority of the Black Cats’ forward hires during the trade market last summer have been deceptive with flattery. Eliezer Mayenda was loaned to Hibernian midway through the season after failing to establish himself in the first squad, and Hemir Semedo, who was signed from Benfica, is yet to score.
While Nazairy Rusyn has scored twice, Mason Burstow, a 12-month Wearside resident on loan from Chelsea, has only managed one goal. Fans of Sunderland are under pressure to sign one or more excellent goal scorers this summer because of the club’s long-standing striker problems.
It’s interesting to note that free agent Musa Drammeh of Sevilla has been linked to Sunderland, Cardiff City, and Birmingham City.
According to Football Insider, all three teams are interested in the attacker after it was reported that Sunderland had shown interest in Drammeh during the January transfer window. The Black Cats allegedly dispatched scouts to observe the attacker at the start of the season and even had a first-round bid turned down. In the summer, Drammeh’s contract expires.
The Barcelona-born player is anticipated to leave Sevilla on a free transfer when his contract expires this summer. He has turned down offers to extend his contract with the team. Due to Sunderland’s well-documented striker shortage in recent seasons, Speakman is anticipated to add more players before the 2024–2025 campaign begins.
Divin Mubama of West Ham, a teenager whose contract at the London Stadium is about to expire, has also been linked to the Black Cats this summer. It is said that Sunderland are “frontrunners.”
During the January transfer window, the 19-year-old was connected to several teams; Everton, West Brom, and Sunderland were reportedly keeping an eye on him. After graduating from West Ham’s academy, Mubama has only made five league appearances this season, but he has played eighteen times for the first team.
The Hammers appear prepared to let Mubama depart the team after discussions over his future; according to The Athletic, Sunderland is the “frontrunner” to sign him. “The 19-year-old forward has received limited game time having rejected a contract offer at the start of the season,” the story continues.
