Breaking: Bills GM Brandon Beane Speaks Volumes About Controversy Surrounding Gable Steveson’s Past

The Buffalo Bills signed former NCAA wrestling champion Gable Steveson to a contract earlier this offseason, but the move was met with some controversy.

While wrestling for the University of Minnesota in June 2019, Steveson and a teammate were arrested on suspicion of criminal sexual misconduct, but the case was dropped later that December due to a lack of evidence.

Bills GM Brandon Beane was asked about this during mandatory minicamp this past week.

“As I’ve told you guys before, I’m not a crime investigator,” Beane said. ” … There were no charges.”

The 24-year-old dabbled in the WWE after dominating at Minnesota, where he posted a 5-2 record and two NCAA titles.

Steveson, who stands at 6-1, 275 pounds, is listed as a defensive tackle despite having no experience in that area, or really any position for that matter.

He began his first steps to becoming a football player as the Bills completed OTAs and mandatory minicamp. Steveson will now have more time to learn the game away from the field before Buffalo begins training camp next month.
