NEWS: Rotherham United Boss Leam Richardson Stuns Fans: ‘I Won’t Accept Apologies’ for Referee Blunder Against West Brom
After Rotherham United’s 2-0 loss to West Bromwich Albion, a refereeing error left manager Leam Richardson perplexed.
The Millers were already relegated, therefore the only thing left to win against the Baggies was pride. Goals from John Swift and Brandon Thomas-Asante prolonged the team’s miserable season. The lack of peril, meanwhile, didn’t make Richardson’s post-game frustrations any less intense.
Following a ruling that Lee Peltier had handled the ball in the penalty area, Swift scored West Brom’s second goal from the penalty spot.

When asked if he would report the referees, Richardson said, “What? and receive a second letter of apology?” Carlos Corberan, the manager of the Baggies, who is his opposite, stated he had not seen a replay of the incident.
With the victory, West Brom’s point total increased to 72 and they remained on track for a play-off finish. Now, nine points separate fifth-placed Baggies from seventh-place Coventry City.
