In a recent interview, former Salisbury FC player Shaff opened up about his departure from the club, and his words were far from complimentary. Reflecting on his time with the Whites, Shaff didn’t hold back, claiming that leaving the club was the best move for his career.
“I’ve been through a lot at Salisbury,” Shaff revealed. “When I look back, leaving the club was honestly a step up for me. It’s not just about the football—it was about the environment, the mentality within the team. There were some great players like Josh McDonald and Charlie Davis, but the atmosphere just wasn’t right for me to push forward.”
The star midfielder also shared that some of the club’s internal challenges contributed to his decision. “I’ve played alongside players who wanted to improve and get better, but the system in place didn’t support that. It was frustrating at times. I’m grateful for my time there, but moving on was the right choice for me.”
Shaff, now thriving at his new club, did not hold back when discussing the managerial style of his former coach at Salisbury FC, saying, “You can’t always succeed with outdated strategies. That’s what I found. It’s not just about the players; it’s about how the whole system works together.”
