Just In: LA Rams Fans’ Shocking Choice, Star Player Steals the Spotlight
The fans of the Los Angeles Rams are hopeful that their team selects a guy who can lessen the impact of Aaron Donald’s injury.
The most popular candidate for the Rams’ 19th pick was recently revealed by PFF, and it’s not a shocking selection.
Byron Murphy II, a defensive tackle from Texas, is the top fan favorite now that Aaron Donald has retired. He is selected in 17.8% of mock selections.
Murphy and Illinois’ Johnny Newton are widely considered as the class’s best defensive tackle prospects. At No. 19, both would be a great addition for the Rams.
Murphy demonstrated his abilities in the previous season, recording 29 tackles, 8.5 tackles for loss, five sacks, and even two offensive touchdowns.
Mel Kiper Jr., an NFL Draft expert for ESPN, has rated Murphy as a top defensive tackle prospect and possible first-round selection.
Given his talent, Murphy would fit right into the Rams’ defensive scheme if he were selected at No. 19. He might, though, be selected before their selection.
Despite this, a trade-up for Murphy is still conceivable given the Rams’ history of being proactive on draft day.
