Good News Hits Detroit Lions as Head Coach Dan Campbell Makes An Exciting Announcement
In 2023, Brodric Martin was a regular fixture on the Detroit Lions’ list of inactive players. Though healthy all season, the third-round rookie defensive tackle only appeared in three games. Martin was aware that he was a test subject when he was selected from Western Kentucky.
A massive undertaking, to be sure; at six feet five inches and three hundred and thirty pounds, he was by nature a large man, but his physique did not seem prepared for a career in sports. As Martin begins his second season in Detroit, that seems to have changed.
Martin appears to have dedicated his offseason to body modification and getting into NFL form. Some photos from the recent minicamp that the Lions have shared show the changes fairly clearly.
Joe Chapp did a fantastic job on social media of combining Martin’s before and after shots into a single image. The first image dates back to the June minicamp of the previous year, while the one on the right is from this week’s OTAs.
We haven’t gotten an opportunity to watch Martin in action because none of the OTA sessions have been made public to the media, but he certainly appears to be a better and different player going into his second season with the Lions.
