Breaking: West Brom and Stoke City Battle for Star as Major Career Decision Looms
Josh Windass, a transfer target for West Bromwich Albion, is expected to sign a contract to stay at Sheffield Wednesday following rumors regarding his future, per the most recent reports.
The Sheffield Star first reported in May that Windass’ status at Hillsborough was being monitored by the Baggies and their West Midlands rivals Birmingham City.
Windass’ contract was about to expire at the end of June, and he had assisted the Owls in their Championship comeback. The publication added that Derby County and Stoke City were also vying for his signature.
In addition, Football Insider reported on Monday that Hull City and Coventry City have entered the hunt for the 30-year-old after he scored two goals and added seven assists in 28 games to help Danny Rohl’s team win.
To the dismay of Windass’ numerous suitors, the Sheffield Star has provided an update on the attacker’s pursuit this summer: the attacker is expected to sign a new contract with Sheffield Wednesday, extending his stay for a sixth season after joining the team from Wigan Athletic back in 2020.
Now, in preparation for the start of the summer transfer window on Friday, West Bromwich Albion needs to consider other potential targets.
