Breaking News: Without Action, 9 Players to Depart SCL Stadium! Reading FC Fans Beware
Here, we examine the nine players who will be departing Reading at the end of the current campaign.
Femi Azeez Perusing It’s finally getting better for Reading off the field after a difficult season. The announcement of Dai Yongge, the owner of Reading, having inked a letter of intent with a prospective buyer was made last month.
The princess won’t be finished until at least next month, so for now the club is presumably saved, and all attention is on the field. As a result of their superior performance in League One in 2024, the Royals have begun to pull away from the relegation zone.
Fans of the Royals should have optimism for the upcoming season under Ruben Selles, even though survival is not assured.
However, a sizable portion of the first team’s players have contracts that are about to expire. Here, we examine each of the nine players that will be departing this summer.

Rushesha Tivonge 2023 , Jayden Wareham 2023, Abrefa Kelvin – Guinness-Walker Nesta 2022, Sam Hutchinson 2022 , Mola Clinton 2023, Dorsett Jeriel – Joel Pereira 2023,Femi Azeez.
Rushesha Tivonge
After leaving Swansea City, Rushesha joined Reading FC 1920 in the summer. The Zimbabwean international signed mostly as a squad member and has made very few appearances, often sitting on the bench.
Jayden Wareham
Jayden Wareham After spending the first half of the previous season on loan at League Two’s Leyton Orient, the striker joined the team in the summer after leaving Chelsea. Although Wareham, 20, has only made a few substitute appearances for the Royals’ main team, he has been very productive for the U21s.
Abrefa Kelvin
Abrefa Kelvin After making his club debut two seasons ago, the right-back has progressed through the academy at Select Car Leasing Stadium. He has been a backup player this season, much like Wareham and Rusesha.
Tyrhys Dolan and Nesta Guinness-Walker
Walker Guinness-Nesta GuinnessWalker joined the team in the summer of 2022 after leaving AFC Wimbledon. One of Reading’s greatest performers in the Championship the previous year, he was frozen out by Selles this year, which forced him to sign a one-year loan with Stevenage.
Sam Hutchinson
Untitled design (2)-1 Hutchinson, who joined from Sheffield Wednesday, has also been a member of the team since the summer of 2022. His time with the Royals has been plagued by injuries; he was only able to play in 12 games the previous season and returned to the matchday squad only recently after suffering an injury in December.
Mola Clinton Mola Clinton On the day of the deadline, the left-back joined the team. He struggled when he first went to Berkshire, following a very bad season with Blackburn Rovers on loan in the Championship last season. However, as the season has progressed, he has become an increasingly reliable and adaptable option.
Dorsett Jeriel
Another youngster to come through the Royals’ system is Jeriel Dorsett, who played in the Scottish Premiership last season while on loan at Kilmarnock. Despite being a natural center back, he has been playing left back this season and has shown to be a highly reliable back option.
Joel Pereira
Joel Pereira Pereira, a backup with Dutch team RKC Waalwijk, signed with the team in September after his contract there ended.
After serving as David Button’s backup for most of the season, Pereira has recently entered the team and produced some outstanding performances; it appears that he will hold the no. 1 place for the remainder of the campaign.
Femi Azeez
Femi Azeez in 1920 Azeez, who is arguably one of Reading’s greatest players this year, has fulfilled the promise that Reading supporters always knew he possessed. The Reading academy graduate has been a constant threat to League One defenses down the right-hand side, adding goals and assists to his game.
It will be intriguing to watch where he finishes up in the summer. Plymouth Argyle, a Championship team, expressed interest in him in January and could make another move for him.
