Breaking News: Orlando Pirates Secure MSC Signing of Legendary Erasmus

Kermit Erasmus’ peers have been retiring in recent days. A new update suggests that the former Orlando Pirates star will continue playing.

Anyone who thought Kermit Erasmus was considering retirement should think twice. The former Orlando Pirates striker has joined the MSC Sports agency.

ORLANDO PIRATES ANNOUNCE KERMIT ERASMUS EXIT

As reported in recent weeks, the Sea Robbers announced that the 33-year-old from Gqeberha has left Orlando Pirates due to limited game time and inconsistent fitness.

“Kermit rejoined the Buccaneers in 2022 after nine years away and made an immediate impact by helping us clinch the MTN8 title. With over 117 matches under his belt in Pirates colours, Romeo, has solidified his legendary status at the club,” Orlando Pirates said.

Meanwhile, Erasmus has joined a agency in MSC Sports, meaning MSC will be taking on the responsibilty to find his next club. ” Kermit Erasmus finds a new home. The experienced striker has joined Mscsports – an award-winning full-service sponsorship agency,” Austin Ditlhobolo reported.

“Erasmus, 33, is unattached after leaving Orlando Pirates. Some of Mscsports’ clients are Iqraam Rayners, Steve Barker, George Matlou, Sphelele Mkhulise & Azola Matrose,” Ditlhobolo added.

KAIZER CHIEFS SHOULD TAKE ADVANTAGE

In the meantime, former Kaizer Chiefs winger Junior Khanye has encouraged Amakhosi to sign the former Orlando Pirates attacker. Khanye believes Erasmus still has the experience to add value and quality at Kaizer Chiefs.

“I do believe Kaizer Chiefs can offer something. But Chiefs might not want to because they might look at his age because in South Africa, once you are 34, 35, they label you that you can’t play anymore.

“I don’t understand where this comes from because there are top players who are still playing for their countries at 36, 37 and they are still scoring.

“Ronaldo scored two goals now for Portugal. He is 38 turning 39, the same age as me, but he is still wearing the armband for Portugal and scoring.

“So why not Kermit at the age of 34 [33]? For me he is still good enough to play for Kaizer Chiefs. I think Chiefs should sign him as well,” Khanye concluded on the Orlando Pirates legend.
