Breaking News: Ipswich Town Sensation Gwion Edwards Shocks Fans
Gwion Edwards, a former winger for Ipswich Town, has committed to Morecambe by agreeing to a new two-year contract with a one-year option.
The 31-year-old, who had been a free agent since Wigan Athletic dismissed him in the summer, signed a contract with the League Two team in January that would last until the end of the season.
With 22 games and three goals as the Shrimps ended 15th in the fourth division, he rapidly established himself as a vital member of the team.
Regarding his new contract, Edwards stated: “I’m happy to see it through to the end. I had a great time playing for the club last season, arriving in January, and everyone has been amazing.I can’t wait to get going in pre-season.”

During his tenure at Portman Road, Edwards made 108 appearances and scored 14 goals overall. In order to join Wigan in 2021, he declined a new contract with the Blues.
