Breaking: Club’s Statement Sends Shockwaves Through FA Cup with Game-Altering Changes
Next season, FA Cup replays will not be shown.
The Club was initially informed of the intention to discontinue replayed fixtures in the FA Cup on April 18, 2024. The Club has a long history in the FA Cup and is well-known for its giant-killings. These replays contribute to the competition’s magic in part.
Replays of the FA Cup are also extremely important financially for non-league teams. Based on the additional statement released on April 19, it appears that the decision was made without consulting non-league clubs.
We’re thinking about what to do and will consult with other clubs to determine the best course of action.
