Just In: latest update on Swindon Town Ownership Protest
The anti-Swindon Town hierarchy demonstration at the County Ground was canceled on Saturday before it got underway.
After a challenging season for the team both on and off the field, fan attitude toward the present ownership of the team has soured, and one fan has decided to organize a protest.
When The Advertiser spoke with Jason Lane, the organizer, last week, he expressed the feeling that something needed to be done or that he was afraid the situation would “end up in a worse position than Reading.”

Zavier Austin, a Swindon matchday guest who the club tried to appoint as Vice Chairman in August 2021 but has since stated had nothing to do with the club, reportedly approached him as the protest was about to start. The protest was put on hold after Lane claims to have discussed the need for change at the club in a conversation. As of right now, it is unknown if there will be any more of these.
