Suns GM’s Bombshell Announcement: Durant, Beal, and Booker’s Destiny Revealed

Phoenix: There is “no scenario” in which players like Devin Booker, Kevin Durant, and Bradley Beal be traded this summer, according to Phoenix Suns general manager James Jones, who spoke to Burns and Gambo today on Arizona Sports.

Since the season ended, speculation has been rife in Phoenix as the Suns, despite possessing the star power to contend, failed to live up to title expectations once more. Phoenix finished the regular season with 49 wins, however they were swept in the opening round of the playoffs.

Since then, things have changed. After weeks of consideration, Frank Vogel was sacked, and Mike Budenholzer was recently named the team’s new head coach.

Additionally, Phoenix recently brought on a new employee for the front desk; you can learn more about them here. Ever since the year ended, there has been a lot of trade talk surrounding all three stars.

Moving one of their stars would be the only significant method to make a difference, as the Suns are well over the second tier of the luxury tax and have few other routes to effect change. Prior to this, NBA source Shams Charania claimed that the Suns “sensed” they would keep Durant, Beal, and Booker together for the 2024–25 campaign.

Beal’s no-trade policy exists. With two years remaining on his contract, Durant probably wouldn’t get much value back, and dealing Booker seems like a bad idea overall. In the upcoming weeks and months, reports and fake transactions will undoubtedly still occur, but the Suns front staff has already declared clearly that their stars won’t be traded.
