NEWS: Denver Team’s Epic Comeback Leaves LeBron James FUMING at Replay Officials
Monday night, the Los Angeles Lakers lost a heartbreaking game to the Nuggets after blowing a 20-point lead in the third quarter and watching helplessly as Jamal Murray made a 15-foot step-back jumper at the buzzer.
However, NBA legend LeBron James does not regret his long-distance miss with 16 seconds remaining during a devastating 101-99 loss that put the Lakers in a 2-0 playoff hole. He didn’t look into why the Nuggets made seven straight shots in the closing minutes or why Los Angeles squandered a huge lead.
Nope. James lost it when it came to officiating. James was particularly incensed with the NBA’s replay system.
When D’Angelo Russell drove to the hoop in the third quarter and whistled Denver’s Michael Porter Jr., it was this call that infuriated James. The Nuggets contested the call for a foul.
Replay officials overturned the call following a review, stating that the contact was insignificant and had no bearing on the shot.
James concluded his postgame news conference by stating, “To be honest, I don’t understand what’s going on in the replay center.” “I’ve stated that before, whether it was this year or last. ‘D-Lo’ obviously gets struck in the face while driving. If things are going to proceed that way, why the heck do we have a replay center? I don’t think it makes sense.
James wasn’t done yet.
