Dave Roberts: The Renovations at the New Dodger Stadium Are “Exciting”
This offseason, the Los Angeles Dodgers front office has been hard at work expanding their roster and bringing on a number of well-known players. They remained focused on improving on all fronts after winning the World Series.
In addition to expanding their roster, the Dodgers started making some significant improvements to Dodger Stadium. The playing surface is currently in a construction zone, which has presented certain difficulties and different difficulties than in previous years.
However, when asked if he is thrilled about the renovation project, Dodgers manager Dave Roberts repeated the general sentiment that what this project will generate will give them a leg-up.
“I am,” Roberts said. “We’re going to have a couple cages, the locker room and weight room is going to be kind of more current. Logistically, it will make more sense. It’s going to be close. Our home opener to when they get everything all buttoned up.
“I hear they’re working tirelessly, so we’ll see. I’m excited, yeah. My office is going to get a little bit bigger, which would be nice.”
The biggest undertaking in several decades, Dodger Stadium underwent significant upgrades in 2021 as a whole transformation to the center field plaza was completed.
This time, the Dodgers managed to capitalize on their recent success by adding amenities to one of Major League Baseball’s oldest stadiums. Bringing them up to speed in every way strengthens their position as the model franchise since they are a top-tier enterprise.
Renovations at Dodger Stadium comes with challenges.
Speaking about the challenges the present project has caused, the president of baseball operations for the Dodgers stated that operations are much different from those of previous years.
“It’s been a huge advantage for us in years past, having our Minor League players here and big league players train here, our chefs making breakfast and lunch, obviously the weather being perfect,” president of baseball operations Andrew Friedman told DodgerBlue.com.
“It’s been a challenge this winter. Making the most of it. We feel like it will be worth it in the end, but certainly a challenging offseason.”
