The No. 6 Miami Hurricanes will face the Louisville Cardinals on Saturday at 12 p.m. EST, aiming to improve their record to 7-0.
In their history, Miami and Louisville have met 16 times, with the Hurricanes leading the series 11-4-1. However, the Cardinals have won four of the last six encounters, including a 38-31 victory at Hard Rock Stadium last season.
This weekend, though, fans can expect a different Hurricanes squad. Miami’s offense has been explosive, scoring over 38 points in every game and ranking first in the FBS for scoring and passing yards.
Despite their strong offense, Miami’s defense has shown some vulnerabilities, allowing 34 points to Virginia Tech and 38 to Cal in their last two outings. Coach Mario Cristobal and defensive coordinator Lance Guidry will likely have made adjustments during their bye week to address these issues.
On the other hand, Louisville has demonstrated its offensive firepower this season. However, facing the Hurricanes will be their toughest challenge yet. To succeed, the Cardinals will need to make smart plays and avoid turnovers.
Louisville relies on play-action strategies, which may or may not be effective against Miami’s defense. Additionally, the Cardinals struggle in the red zone, a weakness they will need to overcome if they want to secure a breakout game in that area.
