Once again, the Georgia Bulldogs are dominating the Super Bowl.
The NFC and AFC conference championship games were played this weekend, marking the end of the NFL Playoffs. There are many former Bulldogs battling for their lives with a chance to reach the Super Bowl at stake in Georgia football, which is not surprising.
In relation to the Super Bowl, Georgia is ablaze with former players making it to the Finals. Indeed, at least one Bulldog will return to the Super Bowl this season after the Philadelphia Eagles defeated the Washington Commanders on Sunday afternoon.
Although Georgia fans are accustomed to seeing former Bulldogs win the Super Bowl, how many consecutive years have this happened?
24 consecutive Super Bowl seasons with a former Bulldog
As previously stated, a former Georgia Bulldog will return to the Super Bowl this season as a result of the Eagles defeating the Commanders. The Bulldogs will play in the Super Bowl for the 24th consecutive season, which ties them with LSU for the longest active streak.
With all of the former Bulldogs on their roster, it is quite satisfying that the Eagles were the ones to secure this victory for Georgia. In actuality, Jalen Carter, Nolan Smith, Jordan Davis, and Kelee Ringo are the four Bulldogs on the Eagles’ 53-man roster.
Although there are two Bulldogs on both the Kansas City Chiefs and Buffalo Bills teams competing in the AFC Championship game, the Commanders do not currently have a Bulldog on their roster. Therefore, if the Chiefs or Bills won later on Sunday night, Georgia would have extended their streak to 24 years even if Philly lost this game.
However, the Eagles’ victory is thrilling because it means that a former Bulldog will undoubtedly win a Super Bowl this year.
