The enigma surrounding her retirement grew when it was disclosed by La Gazzetta dello Sport—the same journal that first said she was wanted by Italy’s financial police—that Giorgi had fled to the United States in order to be nearer to her relatives.
The Florence Prosecutor’s Office has conducted investigations and found multiple “gaps” in Giorgi and her family’s tax returns.
Is Camila Giorgi going to get into fashion design?
World No. 1 Iga Swiatek defeated Giorgi, who had been rated as high as 26 in the world, in her most recent match in the Miami Open in March. She does, however, seem to have branched out into modeling in recent months.
The 32-year-old is known for her gorgeous photos on social media, especially on Instagram, where she has over 730,000 followers.
Giorgi has previously stated to Bild that she hopes to work as a fashion designer or writer after finishing her tennis career. Giorgi has collaborated with other fashion businesses, as evidenced by her latest Instagram postings.
