Drake claims he has been banned from the Toronto Raptors’ microphone for a year.
It appears that Drake will not be able to commentate at Toronto Raptors games for the upcoming season.
On Monday, January 13, Drizzy posted a video to his Instagram Story from a Raptors home game against the Golden State Warriors. He appeared to accept the ban, but he was still excited to take the mic.

“@raptors how long is my headphone ban?? I was born to commentate,” he wrote.
In audible commentary, he added, “Good ol’ one-year ban. It is what it is. It was good while it lasted. I’ll be back one day…”
Fans believe that Drake’s ban began in November when he made some unsavory remarks about former Raptors player DeMar DeRozan during a game against the Raptors with his current team, the Sacramento Kings.
While commentating on live TV, Drake called DeRozan a “goof” and added, “If you ever put up a DeRozan banner, I’ll go up there and pull it down myself.”
Naturally, he was upset that his old friend was featured in the music video for his Drake diss song “Not Like Us” and on stage at Kendrick Lamar’s “Pop Out” performance.
In a previous interview with The Breakfast Club, DeRozan explained his loyalty to Kendrick, even though he acknowledged that he loves Drake and K.Dot.

“At the end of the day, I’m from Compton. My city, where I’m from, where I was born, where my family still lives, that comes first before anything,” he said.
“I feel like any real person would understand that. It’s so crazy because my second home became Toronto, that has one of the greatest [rappers] of all time coming from there too.”
During that time, DeRozan also acknowledged that he had not spoken to Drake since the rapper’s feud with Kendrick began that spring.
