Breaking: UNC Basketball’s Hottest Portal Prospect Spotted Rocking Tar Heel Gear
Clifford Omoruyi, a transfer center from Rutgers, made his formal visit to Chapel Hill on Thursday. Hubert Davis and his teammates are probably going to be especially welcoming to the 6-foot-11, 240-pound graduate, who represents the UNC basketball team’s greatest chance to bring in a strong post presence for the 2024–25 squad.
And it’s safe to presume he’s enjoying all the behind-the-scene benefits that accompany a visit from the Tar Heels.

Clifford Omoruyi, 22, stated that his visit to UNC will be his final one before choosing where to use his remaining year of eligibility. After his trip to Chapel Hill, he plans to conclude his recruitment.
Omoruyi, who is ranked third for his position on the 247Sports transfer portal rankings, started all 82 games for the Scarlet Knights during the previous three seasons, averaging double digit points and threatening double digit rebounds per game. He was named an All-Big Ten defender once more this past season after making appearances in all 32 of Rutgers’ games and amassing a conference-high 93 blocks.
The fact that Omoruyi didn’t miss a game in his sophomore, junior, or senior seasons must please the UNC basketball coaches, who are looking to find a reliable big man to maybe start at center court full-time next season.
