Breaking: Spencer Carbery Drops Bombshell Injury Update on Rasmus Sandin
On Sunday night, the Washington Capitals suffered their sixth straight loss as they fell to the Ottawa Senators 3-2 in overtime. Rasmus Sandin, one of the top four defensemen for the Capitals, was also lost to an upper-body injury that forced him to leave the game early.
A question about Sandin was posed to Capitals head coach Spencer Carbery during his postgame media conference. The new bench boss’s news was not good. He stated, “He’s going to miss some time.”
Towards the end of the first period, the Swedish defenceman sustained an injury from a heavy collision from Senators forward Parker Kelly. Sandin hit the ice with his right shoulder wedged between the boards.
In his nine shifts, Sandin skated just 7:09 minutes on the ice before heading to the locker room.
The 24-year-old rearguard’s lower and upper-body injuries have previously kept him out of nine games this season. There are just five games left on the Capitals’ schedule for this season. Next up for them is a matchup with the Detroit Red Wings on Tuesday.
