Breaking: Senators Eyeing Ex-Wild Coach Dean Evason for Major Role, Insider Reveals Surprising Details
According to Bruce Garrioch of the Ottawa Citizen, former Wild head coach Dean Evason has been identified as a “top candidate” for the Senators’ open head coach post.
From July 2020 to November 2023, Evason, then fifty-nine, led the Wild for five seasons as its head coach. He finished the playoffs with a record of 147-77-27 and three first-round exits.
After leading the Wild to a 5-10-4 record in 2023–24, he was sacked, and John Hynes was named head coach.
Evason may now be given another chance, following in the footsteps of former Wild head coaches Mike Yeo and Bruce Boudreau, who were given second chances following Minnesota.
