The Burundi international scored 20 goals in all competitions during his incredible 2014–15 season with West Brom, 14 of which came in the Premier League.

And now, in an honest Q&A session on social media, the center forward—who ultimately connected with Stoke in 2017—has revealed the details of the talks between the two teams.
A football fan took to X to inquire: “What actually happened behind closed doors for this move to fall through? Was it West Brom moved the goal posts? Or did Spurs do something to scupper the deal?”
“Right, Spurs payments were unacceptable and West Brom wanted £30m,” Berahino retorted.
However, Levy would make partial payments of £1.5 million.”
Then came the question from a Tottenham fan: “How close were you to joining Spurs?”
Berahino was forced to say just “90 percent.”
He even made a joke with someone else, saying that if he had moved to London, he might perhaps be playing for Real Madrid, but for now, all he wants to do on FIFA is play for Spurs.
After his unsuccessful move, Berahino has never again finished in double figures in a single season.
Only five times in 56 games across all competitions at Stoke did he find the back, and none of those were in the Premier League.
After an unsatisfactory experience at Stoke, he had stints at Charleroi and Zulte Waregem in Belgium before finding some success at Sheffield Wednesday.
He is presently a player for the Cypriot team AEL Limassol, but his contract is about to expire, thus it appears he will be shopping around for a new team.
