Breaking News: A Confirmation Of Comeback From Star Set to Dominate Braves Lineup Against Diamondbacks
Alright everyone, let’s get started! It’s time to take a look at the lineups for tonight’s home opener. There was a little drama on Wednesday since Orlando Arcia was left out of the starting lineup, but that is normally to be expected when it comes to the Atlanta Braves.
This was because, according to reports, the infielder felt tenderness in his side and didn’t want to take a chance, especially because it was freezing outside in Chicago.
The lineups for tonight have been announced, and as usual, let’s begin with what our Braves are hoping to accomplish this evening:
It’s encouraging to have Orlando Arcia back in the starting lineup and to know that his absence from Wednesday’s game was entirely preventative. Adam Duvall will start in left field tonight in the meantime.
It’s become fairly obvious what the Braves are doing with those two outfielders as Duvall has started every game this season when the team has faced a lefty while Jarred Kelenic has been selected anytime a right-hander is on the mound.
Conversely, the following is how the Arizona Diamondbacks will dress for the game tonight:
Joc Pederson will start at designated hitter for the Diamondbacks tonight, so it’s good to see a familiar face batting fifth for Arizona. Aside from the fact that we know he’s going to get a warm reception (and perhaps some enthusiastic applause for old friend Jace Peterson from the diehard supporters), this is undoubtedly a completely different lineup for Arizona than what they’ve been playing recently.
The top four players are still there, and they are unquestionably a dangerous set of batters to deal with. Since Ketel Marte and Lourdes Gurriel Jr. have both had strong beginnings to the season, perhaps Spencer Strider can ensure that they (along with everyone else) remain silent tonight.
