Breaking: Miami Heat Anticipated to Acquire $120 Million Star in Trade

The Miami Heat were eliminated from the first round of the playoffs by eventual champions, Boston Celtics, in quite convincing fashion last season.

Of course, one cannot forget that both Jimmy Butler and Terry Rozier missed the entire series but even then, there is clearly a need for the Heat to improve if they want to get back to challenging for the Championship.

One of the Heat’s weaknesses in recent times has been their offense. They might need to bring in some help in that department.

There has been quite a lot of speculation around the future of Butler in recent weeks. It is believed that the 34-year-old is seeking a max contract extension from the Heat, something that they might not be keen to hand him at this stage of his career especially considering his injury history.

Even if Butler were to stay in South Beach, the Heat would not have a lot of time to maximize the last few years of his prime.

The Heat have been predicted to trade for Dejounte Murray of the Atlanta Hawks in order to improve offensively.

In the article ‘Dejounte Murray Will Be Traded to the Miami Heat’ on TWSN, Marissa Myers wrote: “The Miami Heat fell short last offseason in being able to trade for Damien Lillard. Having that type of player would’ve tremendously improved the Heat’s offense. They can’t have a miss like that again this offseason, and that will lead to them trading for Dejounte Murray.”

Adding Murray might not only be a boost offensively but defensively as well. Myers wrote: “While his defensive ability may have taken a bit of a hit in Atlanta, there’s no doubt it’s still there from when he showed it on the San Antonio Spurs, and if any coach can get that ability back out of him, it’s Erik Spolestra.”

Murray has been a key performer for the Hawks in the two seasons that he has been in Atlanta and it was just last year that they finalized a four-year, $120 million extension.

But there has been speculation that the Hawks might be looking to start afresh after having landed the No. 1 pick in the 2024 Draft.
