Breaking: Kentucky Wildcats Make Jaw-Dropping Move for Star Guard in Transfer Portal

While we are starting to witness visits, it appears that Mark Pope and his coaching staff have narrowed in on a select few targets in the transfer portal. Nevertheless, they are still contacting new players as soon as they access the portal.

Big Blue Nation may recognize the name of one of the players who Coach Pope contacted, but not for the best.

Trazarien White, a former forward for UNC Wilmington, is that person. White scored 27 points on 9–16 shooting in the game the Seahawks defeated the Wildcats in the previous season. In Rupp Arena, he added ten rebounds, giving White a double-double.

This is a full-circle moment for me because I remember thinking, man, when I watched White play in this game, “I hope Kentucky gets this kid in the portal after this season.” To be honest, though, I didn’t think Mark Pope would get in touch with White.

White led the Seahawks in scoring during the season, averaging 19.8 points per game, which ranked 39th in collegiate basketball. In addition, White averaged 1.6 assists, 6.8 rebounds, and 39% from three points.

Coach Pope should apply the full-court pressure in this recruiting process because White is the ideal wing that this Kentucky basketball team needs.

It won’t be an easy recruiting battle for Coach Pope to win because White is a player who will be actively sought for in the future.

Given that the 2024–25 roster is still being assembled, White is a name Big Blue Nation should keep in mind when using the gateway.
