BREAKING: Canucks Supporters SHUT OUT of Nashville Playoff Showdowns – The Controversial Reason Revealed
Only those who live in the Predators’ television viewing region may purchase tickets for the Canucks’ playoff games in Nashville.
From Vancouver, the flight to Nashville is somewhat lengthy.
The two cities are separated by more than 3200 km. The Stanley Cup Playoffs matchup between the Vancouver Canucks and Nashville Predators is undoubtedly the one with the greatest travel distance of all the first-round contests. In actuality, the distance between the two cities is greater than the sum of the Eastern Conference games.
However, a few daring Canucks supporters intended to make the journey. Canucks supporters haven’t had the chance to watch their favorite club in the playoffs in person for nine years, so it makes sense that they would want to take advantage of the possibility.
Regretfully, when fans checked Ticketmaster for tickets to the Canucks vs. Predators playoff game in Nashville, they were rudely awakened.
On the Ticketmaster website, fans were alerted that purchasing tickets from locations other than the “Nashville Predators television viewing area – Tennessee, Kentucky, Mississippi, Alabama, and Georgia” would not be possible.
The notification states, “A restricted sales area has been implemented to better serve Nashville predators fans.” The credit card billing address will be used to determine residency. Residents who place orders outside of the viewing area will have their orders canceled immediately and refunded.
This might even harm Predators supporters from outside the list of states who may be temporarily residing in Tennessee, such Vanderbilt University students, because the limitation uses the buyer’s billing address.
In the playoffs, teams have done this before. Remarkably, the Florida Panthers last year limited ticket sales to citizens of the United States for their second-round game against the Toronto Maple Leafs. It is obvious that the goal is to keep rival fans from packing the venue and give preference to local supporters.
The Predators are no strangers to this either; in fact, they restrict sales for a few games during the regular season schedule.
According to a Reddit user, “Predators have certain “Gold Games” like Saturday games where they restrict sales to local in hopes of filling the arena with Pred fans.” As a season ticket holder, there are certain games for which we are not even able to transfer tickets. Attending or making a donation is the only choice.
Fans of the Canucks aren’t even able to purchase tickets on the secondary market. Ticketmaster Ticket Transfers are used by websites such as StubHub to transfer tickets from the original purchaser, yet the Ticketmaster website states that “Ticket Transfers will be disabled for this event.”
Understandably, this has angered Canucks supporters who were looking forward to traveling.

Having friends or family who live nearby purchase tickets for them appears to be the only way for fans to attend the Canucks playoff games in Nashville.
The Predators were contacted by PITB for comment, but as of publication, no response has been received.
