On Deadline Day, Premier League powerhouse Arsenal made an attempt to sign young Stoke City defender Jaden Dixon, and they are still interested in a deal after it fell through last week.
After joining Stoke from Tottenham Hotspur’s academy in 2023, 17-year-old Dixon has quickly risen to become a mainstay in the senior squad over the past 12 months. He made his senior bench debut at Leicester City last October.
Before he signed his first professional contract with the team last summer, the London-born defender, who can play both center-back and right-back, started training with the first team on a regular basis halfway through the previous campaign.
He has gone above and beyond this season to make his first professional appearances in the EFL Cup and has even made multiple appearances from the bench in the Championship, which appears to have attracted the Gunners’ attention before they made their inquiry late in the winter window.
Young Stoke City player Jaden Dixon is being pursued by Arsenal.

Arsenal is keeping an eye on Dixon’s availability as they look to add young defensive reinforcements after Ayden Heaven left for Manchester United. According to a report from Football Insider today, Arsenal made an inquiry for the Stoke star on transfer deadline day last week.
Given the 17-year-old’s potential, which has seen him make an impact at the bet365 Stadium this season, any move by the Gunners would have probably required a comparatively high fee. It is unclear if the Potters were willing to let Dixon leave so late in the window.
Dixon has earned international caps for England at the under-17 and under-18 levels in addition to his exploits with Stoke. He was even named in the squad for the 2024 UEFA European under-17 Championships.
