“Exactly What We Needed!” – Castleford Tigers Bring in Ex-Wigan Warrior to Strengthen Forward Line
Castleford Tigers have signed a former Wigan Warriors man as Danny McGuire’s side bid to strengthen their pack.
It’s not been the smoothest start for McGuire with the Tigers losing their first four games under his tutelage, however, Castleford finally got on the board when they defeated Salford Red Devils in Round Four.
They’ve since had the week off on account of being knocked out of the Challenge Cup by Championship opponents Bradford Bulls in Round Three and it’s now been confirmed that Cas have signed a forward from the Championship.

Barrow Raiders have confirmed that they have released forward Razor Silva, who many fans will recall as Ramon Silva during his time with Wigan Warriors.
The 23-year-old joined the Cumbrian outfit ahead of the 2024 season having previously played for the Super League champions but he’s now set to take a step up and sign for Castleford Tigers in the Super League.

Barrow Raiders confirmed the move as they took to social media to reveal that they had released Silva from his contract so that he could sign for Castleford.
A club statement read: “Barrow Raiders can confirm that prop forward Razor Silva has left the club with immediate effect, allowing him to take up a full-time opportunity with Betfred Super League side Castleford Tigers.
“While disappointed to lose a player of such quality, we understand Silva’s desire to return to a Super League environment and wish him well for the future.”
Barrow Raiders head coach Paul Crarey said: “Although it’s disappointing to lose a player of Ramon’s quality, it’s also fantastic for us as coaches to see lads progress into the Super League arena.
“Since he joined the club, we as coaching staff have been more than happy to help him out, doing extras on non-training nights.
“Ramon has been like a sponge in his quest to be the best he can be, and it’s been a pleasure to coach him and help him realise his dream of full-time rugby.
“We all wish him all the very best and look forward to watching him in Super League.”
